Overview
Paramatma (परमात्मा) is a devotional reference site for Hindu scriptures — ashtottaras, aartis, bhajans, stotras, sahasranamas, and the complete Bhagavad Gita. Devanagari is the source of truth, paired with generated IAST pronunciation, and the full library is populated by re-runnable ingest scripts that scrape and normalize public Sanskrit archives. Built with Next.js and MongoDB Atlas, it ships as an installable PWA with offline reading, personal collections with shareable links, and a password-protected admin panel for content and analytics.
Key features
- Scripture Library: Thousands of verses across ashtottaras, aartis, bhajans, stotras, sahasranamas, and all 18 chapters of the Bhagavad Gita.
- Devanagari + IAST: Every verse pairs source-of-truth Devanagari with locally generated IAST transliteration, plus a toggleable pronunciation view and adjustable reader type size.
- Automated Ingest Pipeline: Idempotent two-phase scrapers pull proofread texts from public Sanskrit archives, parse variant readings and section rubrics, and upsert them into MongoDB.
- Verse Audio: Per-verse Sanskrit recitation with an inline player, sourced and probed at ingest time.
- Offline-First PWA: A hand-written service worker keeps previously visited pages readable without a connection, backed by generated icons and a full web app manifest.
- Saves & Collections: Bookmark verses and works, group them into collections, and share a collection through a compact encoded link.
- Admin & Analytics: Password-protected CRUD for deities and works, with per-work view/share trend charts rendered as hand-rolled SVG (no charting dependency).
